Baithak is a long-form publication about how India actually works, the culture, economics and psychology behind the everyday systems Indians live inside but rarely stop to question.

I started writing it because I kept noticing the gap between what India was doing and what anyone was willing to explain. We had opinions about quick commerce and almost no analysis of its unit economics. We had endless commentary on weddings and very little on the market that runs underneath them. Everything was either a hot take or a research paper, with nothing in between.

So Baithak sits in that gap. 26 long essays and 30 shorter threads so far, all free, all about systems most of us are inside without noticing.

The engineering half

I studied computer science at Manipal University Jaipur and work as a software engineer, most recently at Publicis Sapient building AI systems. Writing about pricing psychology and then building systems that price things makes you suspicious of both.
